  Abstract: This dissertation evaluates the Noctuidae population (Insecta, Lepidoptera) in the sorroundings of Monforte de Lemos (Lugo, NW Spain). During 133 days, nine months, with a light trap 250 W mercury vapor, we obtained a sample of the periurban population of Monforte Noctuidae. We provide information of ecology and phenology of the 97 species obtained in the sample, of which 21 are new to Galicia and 63 for the province of Lugo. We performed a critical analysis of the literature on the Galician Noctuidae and provisional catalogs were produced for this family in the study area, Lugo and Galicia.
